entourage ---> mail?

I've been trying to move from entourage to mail, but I'm stuck at transferring my emails to mail. I know I could just import them, but that way, they are put in a different folder and is not integrated with new emails. However, if I just try to download the emails again from the web server (google + msn), I get nothing - mail refuses to download old emails, it only downloads new ones. What can I do to correct this? Thanks!

Why not just import them, then move them to the folders you want them in?

well, the emails are from different inboxes, and having to sort through them would be a massive hassle.

You can create smart mailboxes in Mail.app to sort/search for email from the different accounts and then select them all in the smart mailbox and move them to wherever.

however, Mail still doesn't feel quite "right". I've been using entourage ever since I switched to a mac and find it much more powerful. I know this is a bit off topic, but is there a way to sync entourage's emails with iphones? The only reason I'm switching to email is the syncing nightmare is that known as Entourage

For mail, the best way to do this is to set your iPhone to download mail from your server. Apple has directions for email account setup on your iPhone.
