Hey everyone,
I know that this has been a previous thread from like two years ago, but I know that it is a popular search on google recently. I recently was forced over to Sympatico Internet Service by my house owners and found that I was no longer able to send e-mail from Entourage.
The error "The SMTP server for '<whoever>' does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Entourage. To send mail, try disabling SMTP authentication in the account settings or talk to your administrator." kept reappearing during each send and would not send e-mail out of entourage even if I changed it to my own server's outgoing smtp.
The workaround for sympatico was their first smtp server that they setup years ago: smpt1.sympatico.ca with no SSL or authentication required. This works wonders and now I am able to send & receive using Entourage.
Note: For those of you using Sympatico that want to use Thunderbird, it also works fine with this workaround.
Cheers to All
