Enumerating pasted screenshots in Apple Pages

Does anyone know how I can force Apple Pages to automatically enumerate screenshots when I paste into a document? I am able to do it in Microsoft apps like OneNote and Word so my document looks like this, with the screenshot treated like text and automatically given a number and/or letter:

However, I am unable to do so in Apple Pages; Pages treats the screenshot as an image and won't put a number or letter by it.
