It is aimed squarely at the videographers, not the photographers according to all of the reviews I read this afternoon for it.

70D has better processor(Digic 5), more mp (I don't need them), perhaps better iso performance. Why would a photographer choose 7D over 70D then?

I am not a Canon rep. so can't answer that one, apart from mentioning that the 7D is cheaper, I could grab a brand new 7D body right now for AU $800.

The autofocus is straight out the 7D, with the enhancements for video tracking, not for action shots. The Canon spokespersons did say the old autofocus is more reliable in that regard. Which confused me a little, is there a way to select between which autofocus method the camera uses?

You are right, the 70D is supposed to be a stop better ISO performance.

I'm not keen on having a touch screen on my camera though.

If this is the 60D update, I can't wait to see what they bring to the old 7D update!
