Epson Printer and Airport Problem

Often when I'm printing to my Epson CX6400 via Airport from my 15" PowerBook (most recent 10.3 version), the printer stops printing in the middle of the first page. It doesn't jam, or anything, it just stops as if the job were over. The printing box still shows "printing", but it just stays that way, and I have to kill the job. Remedy: Unplug Airport power cord, turn off the printer. Turn them both back on, and try again. (I've begun doing this now before I even begin any print job to avoid the problem.) This problem doesn't occur when I plug the printer directly via USB into the Powerbook. Does anyone have any helpful insight? Thanks
