Hi all,

I have an Epson PhotoStylus 1290 printer. sins upgrading to Snow Leopard ( I think ) it no longer works.:(:( And solutions to this?

The EPSON Printer Utility used to let me check the inks, clean the nozzles etc.

cheers all:)

I think 1290 is an old old printer so it may not be supported by SL.
Time to upgrade your printer to R2400 or R2880.

I managed to get it working.

I downloaded the software again from Epson support site, and all is well:)

epson 1290 with snow leopard

hi there,

just moved over to snow leopard and came into the same problem with my epson SP1290. Managed to get it up and running, but with the Gutenprint v5.2.3 which doesn't allow me to use my advanced print setting through the epson software. when you got yours running, did you happen to get your epson utilities up and going also? Any hints?

cheers

Same here. Got it running with Gutenprint, also able to use Epson utilities after re-installing the driver (from epson website). Problem with Gutenprint is that there are no print settings e.g. quality, dpi etc.

Thanks

I installed optional drivers from the Snow Leopard installer disk (don't know if that was necessary), then I re-installed the 1290 driver from epson.co.uk and it's now using an epson 1290 driver (as opposed to gutenprint), enables print utility but doesn't activate the printer settings.
