Ever since getting a relatively new (to me) iMac (running 10.6.8) and transferring my old Epson Stylus Color 740 over from my previous system (pre-Intel iMac) I've lost several software functions for my printer.

I used to be able to (directly) access the printer's ink levels (without going through Apple's "buy more ink from us" website; I also used to be able to run a print head cleaning routine as well as verifying it and also used to be able to "adjust" the alignment of the print heads through the supplied software.

Now I can do none of these three things running under 10.6.8. I have the Apple Epson Gutenprint driver installed and the printer runs fine but is missing these essential subroutines.

Any ideas?
