I've just given my parents my old iMac with MacOS 10.4.4 on it to replace their aging 350mhz blue iMac. Broadband install was shaky as the modem supplied by their ISP had dodgy drivers that weren't written properly for the Mac and now, my Dad has bought the DX4800. My Dad isn't that computer savvy so when he inserted the driver install disc I got a phone call; "there are lots of files that end with .exe". There were no drivers on the disc that supposedly had both Mac and Windows drivers on. Grrr. My Dad download the drivers and eventually got them working; now the printer will not print at all. It's recognised by OSX but whenever he tries to print it just says that the printer cannot be found. He accidently added the printer again and it worked for one print and now has gone back to the error message. Can anyone help? I'm 110 miles away so can't just have a play - has anyone had similar problems? Please let my parents actually enjoy MacOSX and let them believe my "it'll just work" speech about MacOSX. Arg.
