Epson Stylus Photo 2200 ICC profiles not retained

The ICC Profiles for additional papers are not being retained. I've installed the latest drivers from Epson, and installed the ICC profiles. Initially, all works well and I am able to select paper types listed in the Media Type drop down during Page Setup. However subsequent attempts to select installed papers when printing, the ICC settings are gone. Same results when printing from various apps: Photoshop, Acrobat, Pages, etc. I've used Print Therapy to clear out the installed drivers and start new. Same results. I've found nothing on the Epson forums.

Any suggestions on where to start to look for a solution?

My environment is:
MacBook Pro
Mac OS X 10.5.7
Epson Stylus Photo 2200, USB connect
