So I bought an iphone 4 on 4.3.3 because I wanted an untethered jailbreak. What is the safest way to "clean it up" so to speak without having to update the ios? It is going to come not jailbroken. The seller is going to unsync his music/games/contacts/etc. but I wanted to take an extra step to really erase his stuff. Is there a way to restore the phone without it updating to 5.0.1?

I believe if I hit the restore button when it is connected to Itunes I will be forced to update. This is correct right?

If I utilize the erase all content and settings button on the phone itself and then plug it in to itunes when asked, will I be forced to update the phone to 5.0.1? Or will it just activate and preserve the 4.3.3?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
