Hey guys. I just read somewhere that if i go to settings>general>reset>erase all settings and content, i can use any IPSW firmware for that ipod? Like mines 5.1...if i do that..can i use a 5.0.1 IPSW to go on 5.0.1?

You can now downgrade from 5.1.1 to 5.0.1 with Redsn0w. Of course you need to have your SHSH blobs from the previous version. If they aren't saved, you'll have to be tethered.

OP: The only way to downgrade is to jailbreak. Apple does not support downgrading the OS.

Wait. So can i or can i not downgrade from 5.1 to 5.0.1 using the redsn0w program without my 5.0.1 SHSH blobs. So is there ANY way to do so if i dont have SHSH blobs saved from previous firmwares.
