I know you can clear your browsing history in the bookmarks > history.
You can also clear and erase your cache and cookies in Settings > Safari.

So if I do all that, how come I can still hit the back arrow to show previous page and it will take me to all the sites I browsed? What I'm doing now is opening up two tabs, closing the one I was using and staying with the new tab.

Am I missing something here?

Double click the home button to bring up the background apps. hold the safari icon until you see a red minus, then click it again to completely close it. Then you go delete your history and cache in settings.

Browsing for naughty things are we? ;)

It was an honest mistake, I swear.

How was I supposed to know BoysWithToys.com wasn't actually a real toy site??

Yeah, that wasn't a light saber they were playing with... I know what a light saber looks like!!!

Thanks for the tip JR.

This is the same for any browser, I believe. Even if you clear the history you can still keep clicking "back" on the open tabs, thus re-populating your history. But If you delete your history then close your tabs or close the whole browser, then the sites will be vanquished! Why would this be any different on the iPad?

Yup this will do it. Or just close the particular tab that you were playing dueling lightsabers on... :p

Settings/Safari

On the right there ioption to clear cache, cookies and history I believe.

why don't you just close the other windows? Did I miss something?

I updated my iPad 2 to the iOS 7. when I double tap home to see my app history it comes up. but if I try to hold down an app to delete like before, it doesn't let me. how do I delete the history?

In ios7 you to shut down an app you double click on the home button then you just drag the app up until it sort of vanishes.

To completely clear the history, make sure that all tabs are closed in safari, then shut down safari and then clear everything in the safari settings

if you want to wipe your history then download chrome or firefox
surf
delete chrome or firefox

repeat every time you want to surf "sites"
