Hey guys,

One of my friends iPhone is stolen and he wants to romotely wipe the iPhone. He is not sure whether there will be any message on the screen when the wiping takes place or it will just erase and restart?

From memory it reboots and wipes.

You can send a message if you wish or make it sound off.

So it can be done without the message too. It will be like a normal boot. But just this time it will format everything. Is that correct??

If the device shows up on icloud, then I wouldn't waste much time. Firstly it will give you a very close idea where it's located. I'd try to track it down and once close then play the sound to see if I could hear it.

Correct it reboots and the apple logo shows with the loading bar. Once complete its wiped

That other user might not see a message but I guess they notice it once it is wiped clean. As all apps are also gone and they need to start again making the settings on the phone (like use iCloud or not).
