Hi guys!

I was trying to downgrade/repair my macbook because it was running really slowly and I think I accidently erased the wrong thing in disk utility because now when I try to turn on my Mac, flashing folder with a question mark appears and when I enter recovery mode and go to disk utility there is a HDD drive but it is red and when I click on it it says 'this drive has a hardware problem that can't be repaired.'

I know that it says that I can't repair it but maybe you know any solutions how to fix this problem?

Sorry for my bad English.

Thanks!

So there's no way I could fix it without replacement?

It may be possible to continue using the drive but it would be advised to replace at this time if you have your backup already and need to do an OS reinstall anyway.

Ok, I'll just replace it then. thank you people!
That's probably the best approach, even if you get it working or get around the issue, the drive will eventually fail. No use in taking a chance.
