Erasing data help

Hi All,

I just purchased a 2020 M1 MBA and need to sell my 2015 MBP. I have never sold a Mac before, so what exactly do I need to do to wipe out all of my data? I am a newbie to this, so the easiest process would be greatly appreciated.

If you have FileVault turned on, erasing the disk as you normally would should be sufficient.

Boot to Command+R > Utilities > Highlight MacIntosh HD drive > erase
