Erasing info on OSX 10.5 without CD

My computer came with 10.4 but I put 10.5 but can't find the CD. I am selling the computer but the user wants to keep 10.5 on it. Is there any way I can do this while safely erasing my information. Apple suggested creating a new home folder and deleting my old one. Is that good enough?

Restore with the original discs, if the new owner wants 10.5. He'll have to buy a copy.
