Erasing iPhone 4 with 4.0

Hey guys,

looking to sell my brothers iphone 4 for him. He luckily never upgraded to any firmwares so hes on stock. checked his baseband and hes a ok for an unlock. my question is, how do i wipe the phone? He didn't save his blobs so im guessing i can't restore via the itunes method. could i go into settings and wipe it 100% from that or will it still leaves traces of personal data. gotta take every precaution

You can't fully 100% securely erase an iPhone, however if you "Erase All content and settings" in the phone settings that is good enough security. It is quite hard to retrieve deleted data of an iPhone although as with any device their is a slighy, slight chance.

I wouldn't upgrade if I were you. If you advertise the phone as being on 4.0 it may attract some more buyers as the baseband will be unlockable.
