Norton, the persistent weasel, will not get off my system.

I've deleted every file of Norton that I could find on my system (apparently my dad decided to install it before giving it to me...), but the auto-scan keeps coming up all the time.

It does nothing except irritate me, and prevents me from installing some other, more useful, virus scans.

Is there any program or surefire method to getting rid of the remnants of this pest?

Yea I would tell your dad that Norton is basically a virus within itself and that nobody should EVER use it. EVER!
