Erasing Phone after Jailbreaking it?

Hello i remember in my last iphone after jailbreaking it you need to do something before erasing all phone or it will be stuck on a loading cycle. can someone remind me what and how it was done?

DFU Restore

Not sure if there is anything to erase but as long as you do a DFU restore instead of any type of update you should be fine.

Thanks for the answer, i talked with afriend he recommend me to just use itune to restore then erase all.
