then why do they let you burn playlists?

because not all CDs are CD-RWs, and most CD players can read CD-Rs.

I assume you have a Mac.

Go to Disk Utility (Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility), and select the CD-RW you want erased. Click the Erase tab, then click the Erase button.

I didn't say it doesn't let you burn CDs, I just said that it's primarily a music app and not a CD burning app...

If CD players that could play CD-RW were more common, then I'm sure it would be a feature.

Thanks for the tip, I was just looking around the options in iTunes to erase an old CD-RW I had with some audio on it.
