Some of you are professionals so I’m reaching out to ask what luck you’ve had in finding a decent, reasonably priced, ergonomic chair.

At work and university I find from my knee to my waist isn’t long enough so there’s a gap between the bottom of my spine and where the back of my neck touches the backrest at a bit of a ‘/‘ angle.

After hours of working on my MBP I have a sore neck and back. Our office has quite expensive executive style chairs too, but not so adjustable.

Don’t like the thought of working for hours because of the discomfort. Would love to buy a better solution.

Are Ergonomic Office Chairs Support back pain?
Yes, they will reduce your back pain as well as helps to correct your seating posture. There are many brands & E-commerce stores that sell Ergonomic office chairs but from best of my knowledge & experience I will recommend you to order from fitoutz.com

They really have good quality chairs & in my office, we are also using office chairs ordered from them.
I hope this will helps you!!!

Are you working straight on your MacBook Pro or on an external monitor. If you're looking straight at your MBP you probably look down too much and therefore might sit wrong. An adjustable monitor or adjustable laptop stand would do more than a chair. If all is set up properly you can of course try to upgrade your chair.

The prior post recommending an adjustable height desk, monitor or stand is absolutely correct. This is a huge part of the equation. An ergonomic chair is still important, however.

I have tried a number of them, including the Herman Miller chairs, and in my opinion the best are made by Steelcase. I have used the Leap for years and it provides outstanding back support. More recently I purchased a Gesture for home with the headrest and footrest and it is even better. For many years they have been the Wirecutter’s top pick as well. The chairs have been rock solid - my Leap is now nearly 10 years old with no issues. The only downside is that they are not cheap. That said, prior to this I tried most of the inexpensive chairs out there and could not find one that remotely was as comfortable or durable as higher end ergonomic task chairs that approach $1000. This seems to be a market segment where you do get what you pay for.

I had severe back pain from a cheap Ikea chair.
Go for a Herman Miller one.
If you can go to a store and try them out. I found a store in London and ended up going for a Cosm
It cost an arm and a leg but it's been great so far. No more back pain.
It took forever to deliver though so I'd recommend buying what a shop has ready made.
The Sayl chairs are everywhere and come highly recommended.
Lots of places have the ready to ship ones on offer.

The Wirecutter had Sayl as one of their recommendations when I bought.

Hope this helps.
