Ermm... Confused? [about specs]

So was looking at getting a 2012 refurb 15 inch rmbp,

the specs are for the 2.3ghz
Originally released June 2012
15.4-inch (diagonal) Retina display; 2880-by-1800 resolution at 220 pixels per inch
8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
256GB Flash Storage
720p FaceTime HD Camera
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5 memory

Right now however, on the 'technical specs' page for all the macbook pro range, it says this

'NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 512MB of GDDR5 memory and automatic graphics switching (2.3GHz 15-inch model). The optional 2.6GHz and 2.7GHz 15-inch models come with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB GDDR5 memory'

Is this true? the 2.3ghz only has 512mb of dgpu? i've never heard that before but it's thrown me off a little seeing that there.

Are you sure you weren't looking at the classic specifications?

right ok, i see now, it definitely wasn't clear!!

will ghz make much of a difference to gaming aswell as only 8gb?
coming from a 2010 mbp with 8gb ram it seems a little underwhelming...

2.3 GHz 8GB Ram will be fine for most users. You were interested in the Retina correct?

The base model is pretty good. What games are looking to play? You should consider looking into installing Windows via Bootcamp if you want the best gaming performance.

nice, yeah definitely retina encase i need to lug it into uni everynow nd then, mainly just bf3 tbh, probably bf4 when it comes out, although i'd like to try some other games now i have a decent machine.

and yeah going to install win7 via bootcamp. i hope 256GB is enough room!!
