trying to update my iphone to latest firmware and i am getting this error.

what should i do?

sorry it would have been helpful if i included that wouldnt it

iphone 4
it was jailbroken on 4.1
it shows connect to itunes
itunes is upto date
i am using a macbook

Why not just avoid the hassle and let Apple fix it or replace it?
Edit: I just noticed that it was JB, I guess a trip to the Apple store is out.

Can you try and update the phone in DFU mode? You are currently in Restore mode.

DFU is before OS load.
Restore Mode is after OS load.

If you erased all settings or you had an incomplete restore, you might not be able to get out of it (restore) without being in DFU.
