I found my external harddrive in my garage after about a year in storage.

I decided to do a fresh install on my MBP Unibody, so I wanted to back up my music files into the external harddrive. At around 11.45 gigs I get the dreaded error-36 problem. I repaired the disk on the external harddrive, and used the "dot_clean xxxxx" command in terminal and I'm still having the same problem. The format of the ext HDD is Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

I'm using a Fantom Drive 1TB. It's basically a WDD 1TB rebranded.

Could it be the fact that some of the mp3s are corrupted? It would stop working at the same "corrupted" songs. I would skip the song that was giving me the error and the rest of the files transfer just fine.
