After setting up a new itunes library on my external hard drive, so I can sync my images on it to my iphone 3gs, I get an error -54 message.
When I hook up my phone via a usb hub, I get error -54 message saying an unknown error occurred & I cannot sync my phone.
It goes on to sync my images anyway, & itunes does see the phone, it shows up at the left side panel.
I have the phone set up with a micro usb adapter plugged into it's connector at the bottom, & a micro to usb cord coming from it.
I plugged this into a usb hub, as I am on a laptop with a shortage of usb ports.
Could these be causing the problem? I know I have a few layers from a direct connection, I have the micro usb adapter on the phone, to protect the original apple connector from dust & wear, from being plugged & unplugged all the time when I leave my home. I keep the phone plugged into AC when I am at home.
