Error code -8003

I have a 3.5 year old Macbook Pro, 10.6.8.

I run Time Machine on a WD My Book II.

I tried to erase many of the old backups and now my trash will not empty anything. IT says ERROR CODE -8003

I tried using Terminal following the commands on this page (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1526) and still it did not empty.

I can find nothing on the net about -8003.

Any help?

Problem solved. I took it to read -8003 instead of 8003.
