Error copying file.. Not enough space

I do not have my external HDD handy but NEED to move my photo library today so I have freed up 74GB on my MBA and want to copy my 65GB iPhoto library off my iMac (which I have sold) but whenever i try I get the error.

Cannot move not enough space on drive.

I have tried moving it to the root of the HDD the desktop the pit curs folder I have tried zipping it and nothing will work!

Can anyone help?

I suggest you split it up into 4.4GB sections. Try to copy as many as you can onto your MBA, put some on your iPhone/iPad and burn any remaining sections onto DVDs
