We have an odd issue whereby if I duplicate or copy and paste files on our OSX server, it does it as expected. If a user tries, connecting via AFP, it reports the error below but does still seem to duplicate the file.

The operation can't be completed because one or more required items can't be found. (Error code -43)

I've checked through all disk permissions with Disk Utility and it doesn't report any errors.

Huh. This is weird and probably doesn't help you, but I usually get that exact same error when I try to empty my trash; if I click "continue" the trash does get deleted in spite of the message. Sometimes it occurs when I try to drop an item in the trash. For me it just started happening when I upgraded to High Sierra (from El Capitan). I can usually fix it by logging out and logging in again.

I don't know (yet) what the message really means.

Hi Brian,

Ok thanks. The server is still on Yosemite and just seems to have started on it's own. If I'm local on the server, it works fine, just users connecting in. Very odd.
