Hi
i have an ipod touch 2nd gen(FW: 2.2.1). After connecting my ipod to my comp. and opening itunes i got an error message which asked me to restore it to its original settings. I could see the ipod icon but i couldn't access any of my files. I clicked on the restore button. Midway through the restoration process, i get an error message telling me that the restoration could not be completed. My ipod has gone dead since then ( not responding). I Desperately need help. I am running a Win 7 os with itunes 9

Unknown error - 9. But when i reconnect it to the computer it gives me this message:Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43). Itunes is not recognizing it. I managed to get into restore mode but again it's stopping at the same point giving the same error - unknown error 9. I'll be grateful if anyone can tell me what to do?
