error in sending a numbers document?

I can't send my numbers document through my email? Why?

How big is the file? Email servers don't allow files one 10MB in email.

Numbers documents are actually special package folders (same as Pages and Keynote Docs amongst others). Some email programs object to attaching what appears to them to be a folder, so my solution is to zip the document and then attach it.
