Error Installing Snow Leopard

Hey folks,

I'm in the process of installing Snow Leopard so that I can upgrade from there to Mountain Lion. However, it has been about 4 hours since it began installing and it still has not finished. I checked the log and found this error:

1 Jul 23 09:43:40 localhost Unknown[80]: 2012-07-23 09:43:075 Mac OS X Installer[142:903] *** -[NSConcreteFileHandle readDataOfLength:]: Input/output error

Anyone have any clue what this means / what I should do?

Probably a problem with the install media. You can try starting it over, or maybe wait it out. 4 hours is definitely excessive, though.
