I have a 4s and I just saw this message for the first time ever today. I got a girl's phone number and I tried texting her tonight, but less than a second later I got a separate text with an error message saying the following:

(Her number) Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code.

The thing is the number was 10 digits as entered. I read somewhere to delete her contact info and then re-enter it, but upon re-sending the text the same error text was sent to me. Any advice? My dating life is at stake! ;)

Sounds like the girl chose to give you a wrong number :D

I don't suppose you tried an actual voice call to that number?

Do you have any other way to verify the number that you have (maybe a mutual friend?)

Just post her phone number here.

I'm sure many MacRumors participants would be thrilled at the novelty of attempting to communicate with a female.

:) :p :D

I'm thinking that, too. And she doesn't have my number so she couldn't block it. I tried deleting her contact and re-sending a text, but this time that little red circle with a white exclamation point showed up next to it (The kind that you get from texting in areas with no service).

And calling her would probably be easier, but who makes phone calls nowadays?:p

you entered the number she gave you and it doesn't work. dude, she gave you a fake number lol. there's nothing more to discuss. move on.

Bad news: She gave you a fake number or worse blocked it.

Or, to be generous, maybe human error was involved.

Whenever I get a number from someone, the easiest thing to do is dial my own number from the other person's phone, and hand it back. Then, when my phone rings, we have each others' number for sure.

Lately i never give my phone to a stranger.
