error message "Message Catalog System: corrupt file"

Hi,

I am not sure how, but I've managed to mess something in the OS. Here's what I get when I type certain commands --

Any idea what's causing it and how to sort it out? Suggestions are welcome.

Well, so far I've seen this in the commands host and man.
