I get an error message with when i tried updating my iMac to the latest firmware update 10.5.5. It something to with the hard drive. I am not sure if its the space as i have got 35Gb left. :confused:

Spec for my mac::D
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2Gb ram
320 HDD
20" screen

Once i couldn't get the software updated through the apple software update i tried to do it manually, but no luck their either. Would really appreciate you anyone could help me through this.:(:(:(

A few things:

1. I don't mean to sound negative, but 10.5.5 is not a "firmware" update - it is a fairly big software update.

2. Looks like you are trying to apple Security Update 2008-006 (Intel), which is for 10.4.11 on a 10.5.x system. (See bottom of page at http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/securityupdate2008006clientintel.html for system requirements).

3. 35 GB left on a 320 GB drive is somewhat pushing it, so consider archiving some data and free up more space. I'd suggest about 25% free space (but this may not be the problem).
