I am using Final Cut Pro 6.0 on a Mac Pro Quad Core with 8 gigs of ram. I am trying to edit some HD footage and it says error...out of memory. I am using 4 2 gig sticks.

Does anyone have a clue??

this error comes up sometime when you dealing with photoshop or tiff file with alfa channels on, what seems to happen is it ok when you add the document , and work with it, but next time you open the project you get the out of memory error.!!

I had it the other day on a project i didnt start , so i had to go through all the media until i found the tiff file, then take the alfa channel off in photoshop, all ok after that.

8GB of ram is more than enough for FCP. Odds are your scratch disks are full if you're getting an out of memory error. Check your HD space.
