Error restoring from disk image

OS X 10.5.8.

Keep getting this error when I try to restore from an encrypted disk image to a USB flash drive:

Can you mount the disk image? If not, it sounds like it is, as advertised, corrupted.

It mounts fine.
I've tried standard read/write images and compressed images.

You might be able to use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone from the mounted disk image...
