I am trying to do an archive and install. After the process of disc one is complete it tells me "There were errors installing the software". I cleaned the disc, there is plenty of room on hard drive.
The disc was sent to me by a family member who owns a Mac store..
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance. =) Kristina

disc color

The top of the disk is white and the bottom is purple..does that matter?

Soft-piracy in action!

OK, here's what could have POSSIBLY happened. Discs shipped with one Mac model will not work on another model, even if they are in the same family. Ex: Discs supplied with Macbook 2.0 GHz processor will not work on a Macbook 2.16 GHz. Your relative has sent you a copy of one of his discs that was exclusive to his Mac!

Here's the way out!
Buy a copy of Leopard off the shelf. Will work like a charm!

That disk didn't come with your Mac and you didn't buy it, so it's not going to work. It's designed to work in some other computer.

Go buy yourself a real copy.

Thanks for your help everyone..I am pretty computer illiterate. I am off to buy Leopard. =):D

Just curious! What are your Mac Specs?

(Click on the Apple icon on the left top corner, Click on 'About this Mac' and tell us what you see there)
