esata card troubleshooting

Hi there
I plug a eSata card in my new Mac Pro 2009, but after a while it disconnect and I can not see the icone of the external hard drive on my desktop.
I have to shut down the Mac, and restart.
My Mac is not set up to sleep. The external har drive is my Time Machine Back up so I have a problem...
Any idea to avoid this problem ?

What's your eSATA card? There are a lot of models out there.
