I have looked at Bootable eSATA expresscards, but I am looking to boot windows using an external SSD connected to the eSATA card. I am currently running parallels, expensive considering I wish to go back to bootcamp. The external windows boot will most likely be for gaming, and I guess the parallels virtual machine will be useful for programming, compiling code for micro controllers; all without having to reboot.

I have read that it is possible to boot windows from an eSATA SSD drive on a macbook, but I cannot for the life of me find any information to verify this, and help me through the process anywhere. Does anyone have any advice on the cheapest eSATA card available able to boot windows, compatible with a small SSD drive?

I have a 3,1 santa rosa model Macbook Pro.

Cheers for any help you can lend. Joel
