Plan to activate my Apple 13 Pro Max on Verizon. It did come with a Verizon physical SIM installed. I am currently using a 12 Pro Max that has a 5G Physical SIM in it. What is the best way to activate? Do I simply swap the SIM from my 12 Pro Max? Or should I activate the 13 Pro Max on a new SIM? If so is it better to use Physical or eSIM? Any pros/cons? Thanks!

I’m on T-Mobile and mine didn’t come with one either. Phone setup just fine with esim, did everything on its own during the activation process. No issues at all. Its nice not having to deal with that little sim door anymore.

Cannot answer all your questions but with my Verizon phone I just switched out the Sim card from my old phone and put it in my new phone and it all worked. I made sure that my first phone was turned off as well as my second newer phone and then inserted the new Sim from my old phone. Afterwords I turn on the newer phone. No issues.

Some people have had no problem activating on the esim, for some it’s been a nightmare including myself. I finally got the esim to activate today after nearly 2 hours on the phone with Verizon. I received my phone on the 24th in which after a day of frustration just activated it on a physical sim.

My 13 came with the e-sim preconfigured. I just had to enter some basic info about the account and everything activated fine. I’d suggest doing that first. If it doesn’t work, you should be fine to put in your old sim
