Anyone encountered this kind of issue before? which got two active eSIMs which SIM A is Country A one has free roaming data for Country B and is the default line for both voice and data.

While SIM B is Country B line which auto roaming is turned on including data roaming.

Then whenever leaving Country B and arrive in Country B, the SIM B will automatically be turned off and the message below is shown.

What is the cause of this?

I only started to have this issue recently, not sure if it due to the iOS 26.1 or whatever. And there is no way to fix this which I do not want this becos my SIM B always get turned off automatically which I always need to manually turn it back on. Super irritating.
I need both lines to be active.

With iOS 26, if you are using a travel eSIM, your iPhone will automatically turn off your travel eSIM and turn your home SIM back on when you return, depending on your country or region.

Blame Apple for this.

check system location services and disable anything related to cell networks to see if it changes.

I just noticed this recently when I got back from a couple of trips. I am on iOS 26 also so it could be that or a general change that could also happen on iOS 18. It's mildly annoying.

It could be helpful but it isn't. Maybe give Apple a call to report it.

You should report it because it is over-reach in my view. People that use multiple sims are smart enough to turn off a SIM when thay do not need it. I sometimes cross one or two border a few time a week and it can get annoying because it turns off the roaming SIM that I use for data when abroad. I only noticed when I did not have data after I crossed into a different country.

Edit, I reported it. The Apple support person has no clue. They asked me if roaming was on and further it is the fault of my carrier that the SIM is off. 🤦‍♂️

Apple is the new Microsoft/IBM! 🤷😂

Edit 2, after the chat, it was escalated and I spoke to a more senior rep. He was very helpful. This is expected behaviour in iOS 26 and this was a requested feature! If you use multiple sims all/most of the time it will impact your usability after you cross a border. The place to submit feedback is here, https://www.apple.com/feedback/

I'm going to switch to iOS 18 on one of my phones and see if it happens there. I have a second iPhone so can compare the behaviour.

I'm going to go off on a tangent here about dual SIM usage. In Asia and the rest of the world except North America, dual SIM phones have been the standard. I was on Android for the last 15 years and they have been from Asia or Europe and they have been dual (physical) SIM and worked great. Apple came out with eSIM and that works great also. But this feature seems like it is only for the folks in North America that will go from the US/Canada to another country and then return home to US/Canada. It doesn't take into account folks that will visit a third or additional countries or folks that use two SIMs continuously that are not from North America. I think there should be a switch that is on by default but can be turned off if wanted. Feedback should and needs to be submitted for this feature to happen.

Edit 3, I tried to downgrade to iOS 18, but apparently it is not possible any longer because I need a signed ipsw which do not exist any longer. C'est la vie.

yes, this is a totally 'new' thing and i had started to experience this for only 1 month time...

i never have this prob before. that's why it is a totally irritating thing. worst there is no option to turn this off.

i had feedback via the link provided. but not sure if it will really be solved.

I have a very similar setup to yours, except that I use two mixed SIMs (physical, for the main line in country A, and eSIM, for country B, with the data turned off, as it is covered by the main line A).

I think your issue might be caused by data usage enabled on both of them. Try switching off data roaming on your card B altogether (as you are covered by your card A in country B for data too) and see if it helps.

I am going between these two countries twice a week and so far have never seen this message about line switching. Running the current public iOS release (26.1).
