ESR digital pen connecting without bluetooth

Hi I just want to raise a really weird bug on iPadOS 26 where my ESR digital pen can connect to ipad A16 without bluetooth being on and can also connect even if the ipad is off.

I’m currently on ipadOS 26.2 beta 2, I’m unsure whether this same bug happens on 26.1, can someone confirm this?

I think BT is used only for reporting the charge level and system settings registration of the pen - if you switch to the home screen and swipe frm the left you will not get the info widget.
Otherwise all of these pens work without bluetooth anyway everywhere (iDevice or Android for that matter), you not even have to pair them.
