Hi,

I have been using Photomatix HDR for Aperture and was wondering what other image editing plug-ins that people consider essential for their photos. Thanks.

Photomatrix is the one I use the most. Noise Ninja second.

Photokit Sharpener is used a lot also but you have to run it through photoshop unfortunately.

I use a bunch of Nik plugins in aperture, they are Color Efex Pro 3, Dfine 2, Silver Efex Pro and HDR Efex Pro, The results they produce are good, I try not the use Photoshop for my photography :)

Any chance these will move into the App Store would be welcome, more so the Dfine. I haven't seen it there yet but it would be nice I guess.

I just got Apeture 3 in late October and will use plug-ins more than I thought of before so this thread is nice, bearing more people give feedback on the ones they use the most or like the best of course :D

I really like the Nik software. I use Silver Efex Pro 2 quite a lot.

Definitely. NIK software are a great plug-ins, especially SE Pro 2. See if here are any Cyber Monday specials. The Complete kit for LR/Aperture is less expensive than the full kit which includes PS. My 2c.

Nik for Lightroom/Aperture is $100 off through today. So it's just under $200 right now. Unfortunately I don't have the spare change for it even at that discount right now.

Their Ultimate version is also on sale.

The Nik Plugins are great on A3, although prone to crashing. Granted, I am running batches of 200-300 5DII images through them (weddings) and that could make most plugins crash.

Fantastic results. Nik ColorEfex is amazing for film-effects.

I personally use the Topaz suite and Photomatix plugins. I can't afford to buy Nik, too (at least not yet). Topaz seems to have equivalent functionality with Nik, but they also seem to have different things they do as well that owning both would be beneficial. Maybe I'll get some Christmas money that I can spend on a purchase...

On a different note, does anyone know how to batch through a bunch of photos with Topaz? I've wanted to run a group through the same DeNoise filter, but I haven't figured out a way to do it.
