essential question about doing a back up

So I pre-ordered Leopard and I have decided to do a clean install of 10.5. I used SuperDuper to back up my system to an external drive. Once I install Leopard, how to I restore my back up to the clean system. Will my software still be registered? Will I need SuperDuper to restore the home folder (I obviously will not have superduper installed on my system after the Leopard install)? Any other helpful suggestions?

I am in the exact same situation as you, and fortunately, it's not a problem at all. What you need is a so-called selective restore. You can do this manually, by browsing the disk and copying over what you need, or you can let Leopard's Migration Assistant handle the task for you, after Leopard is installed and the setup screen loads.
