I frequently use my MBA on battery power plugged into an ethernet cable for access to a large LAN and for internet access. I am curious about the extent of power consumed, if any, by the adapter options which I understand are USB to Ethernet and Thunderbolt to Ethernet. Does anyone have any knowledge they could share on this question?

Ethernet requires very little power - as well as those adapters. USB in of itself is a low power system already but it is just powering the device. It's bus powered and that's all I can gather.
