Ethernet cableconnected, keep losing internet connection

I know- chekc the cable, all that- doneseveral times. Ijust setup my bran new macbook pro (first mac ever) and it is having a terible time connecting to the internet over an ethernet cable. Any thoughts here?

I know this sounds like a lame post, I just want someone to tell me if here is some seting I need to check or if there is a problem with new macbook pros I need to be aware of
