Hallo,

I use an ethernet cable to connect my MBP to my iMac in order to transfer files between the two.

If the ethernet connection is established while Airport is already operating (on either computer), then transfer rates are incredibly slow.

If Airport is turned off before establishing the ethernet connection (and then turned on again afterwards) the transfer rate is very fast, however, files are often transferred 99% of the way and then hang there forever without completing.

How can i achieve an adequately functioning ethernet connection while also having Airport turned on?

Thanks for any suggestions.

The MBP is running Leopard and the iMac Tiger.
