Ethernet Hardware (?) problem

My ethernet port is not responsive. Same cables work elsewhere. Doesn't light up, not recognized at all. I tried to zap the pram but to no avail. Suggestions?

Disconnect your MBP, then reset your router/modem. Restart your MBP then connect it.

If that doesn't fix it, go into sys prefs>network, select the ethernet and see if its recognizing a cable, and that you have DHCP enabled.

If nothing works and the same cable works in the same slot of the router with other computers then it seems like its time to call Apple.
