So, I bought a USB to Ethernet adapter for my MBA. It shows to be working fine in Network preferences, and when I run diagnostics it tells me 'your internet connection appears to be working correctly' but its a lie, its not working, no pages load and it seems I have no internet at all.

Why?

Can you link to the product page you got that USB <> Ethernet adapter from or can you tell us which model it is?
And what MBA (year and size) with what Mac OS X version do you use?

This happened to me and they said to try an SMC reset and it worked
