I am trying to set up a Brother HL series network printer on my AirPort Express. I have used the printer with a Linksys router and cable previously...

The basic problem is that the Macs all find the printer when I try to add it with the System Prefs options. However, after that it will not print - the queue says that it is trying to connect (then waiting 30 seconds and trying again).

I cannot use the USB option on the router because I need to have a hard drive connected, and the router/cable modem are clear across the room from the printer - I'm using a long ethernet cable (same cable as before).

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Mike

Buy ac powered usb hub?

I'm hoping to be able to do the ip printing as I did before - I don't think I can get a usb cable to stretch around the room to the printer (though I do have an ethernet cable that already does the job).
